Silver Lake

This local lake just 15 minutes from Woodstock is a popular spot year-round! In the winter it is open to the public for ice skating and ice fishing at your own risk.

Community Rink on Vail Field

This small rink is set up by and for our Woodstock community each winter! Located alongside public Vail Field (steps away from the Woodstock Inn & Resort), it is open and available to use as weather permits, but make sure to bring your own skates.

Passionista Tip: It's a popular spot for local families after school and on the weekends but is often quiet during the day on week days.

Lake Morey Resort Ice Skating Trail

Lake Morey Skating Trail

This unique skating trail is the longest in the country at over 4 miles! The town of Fairlee, Vermont maintains the natural ice path which skirts Lake Morey past pond hockey rinks and around ice fishing huts. Use of the trail is free to the public and easy to access, 40 minutes from Woodstock, Vermont. Hockey, figure, and Nordic skate rentals are available at Lake Morey Resort. 

Passionista Tip: Be cautious as the ice is often uneven with unseen hazards. Encourage children to wear padding and a helmet.
