Sweetness of Summer
August is buzzing by, and every morning marks another day to enjoy and make the most of the fleeting season. The last few weeks still hold so much summer and you can soak in the days however you like. Whether it’s hiking a favorite trail, getting a table at the newest restaurant in town, or simply taking the time to relish in all that summer has left. With a whisper of fall in the air, kids are enjoying their free time outside as anticipation for the upcoming school year builds once again. Everyone seems to be holding onto the sweetness of summer during August in Woodstock, Vermont!

Women Fishing for Reel Fun
Gather with other women to enjoy time on the beautiful Vermont water with our Orvis-Endorsed Fly-Fishing Program. We are excited to support Orvis’ 50/50 On The Water initiative with She Casts: Our Women Only Fly-Fishing Weekend! Never fished before? Great! You’ll learn everything you need for a fun day of casting. Experienced with a fly rod? Great! You’ll get instruction on advanced tactics and further your fishing skills. Led by local female Orvis-Endorsed guide, Samantha Aronson, the one- or two-day weekend will be an intensive, but not intense experience for any level. Women and girls age 10+ are encouraged to join, all Orvis gear is provided, and lunch is included each day!
September 10 & 11 – One- or Two-Day Program

Two Days (attend both Saturday and Sunday): $349

Everyone's at The Farm
There’s always something happening down the road at Billings Farm & Museum! This fall they have a fantastic lineup of events for everyone, here are a few of our favorites!
- A casual evening of Moos & Brews (& Cocktails too!) invites the over 21 crowd to grab a local beer and pet the friendly Billings Farm cows on September 16.
- TEDxHartlandHill comes to the farm on September 24 to discuss and discover “What is Community?” The topics will explore how home as a sense of place, and connection, along with the inner reflection and well-being of heart resonates within the Woodstock community. While the subject matter will not shy away from serious issues, there will be a healthy balance of entertainment, learning, and a focus on good for individuals and community. For more details, visit www.TEDxHartlandHill.org.
- October 8 & 9 kick off all things Autumn at the farm with the Harvest Celebration! Bring the family for apple cider and donuts, wagon rides, and fall colors.

Good to the Last Sip
Crafted cocktails are sort of like a great summer getaway. They are incredibly refreshing, gone too quickly, and good to the last sip! Our bartenders love to mix up libations that go with the season, and a favorite for soaking up the last drops of summer is The Botanical. The slightly sweet and tastefully tart quenching cocktail is topped with a fresh edible flower from our own organic Kelly Way Gardens. Our mixologist's favorite garnish is the peppery and floral blue Bachelor's Button (also known as a Cornflower), but other edible flowers can be a great addition too - like Snap Dragons or Blue Borage. So head out to your garden or your local market to gather the materials for this cocktail and savor all that is left of summer! Find the recipe below so you can sip it at home:
