Woodstock Vermont Fall Village
Autumn News from Woodstock

Colorful Canvas

The green canvas of summer has been painted over with autumn’s vibrant hues, marking peak foliage season.  The sunny yellow aspens mingle with the scarlet red sugar maples, and the deep maroon of dogwood leaves rustle with golden oaks as a cool breeze travels through the valleys and hillsides. Peak leaf peeping is upon us and even the most seasoned Vermonters will gaze in wonder at the colorful landscape. A backroads drive, bike cruise, or hike to a nearby vista is sure to be in everyone’s weekend plans as the trees show off with gusto! Of course, the colorful painting will soon transform again as winter clears the canvas for its natural beauty and our pre-holiday and fall-back packages add value to your stay. Each season paints a new scene and brings more reasons to join us at Vermont’s most beautiful address.

Chef Matt McClure

Meet Chef Matt McClure

There’s a new Executive Chef in our kitchen! Welcome Chef Matt McClure, an award-winning chef bringing over 20 years of culinary experience to all our resort dining outlets. Most recently Chef McClure served as the executive chef at The Hive, a restaurant at the 21c Museum Hotel in Bentonville, AR. He also carries many culinary awards, including the James Beard Foundation Best Chef “South” Semifinalist in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2022. He was awarded the Arkansas Food Hall of Fame Proprietor of the Year in 2021, and has recipes featured in Waste Not: How to Get the Most from Your Food by the James Beard Foundation (2018). We are excited for Chef McClure to join our team!

We bid a fond farewell and happy retirement to Chef Rhys Lewis.

“It is a thrill to join the Woodstock Inn & Resort team and a life-long goal to be a part of this community. I believe we can further develop the Resort’s farm-to-fork culinary program across all outlets driven by foods from the region, and especially with the bounty of the Kelly Way Gardens as an anchor to our pantry. I believe building a positive and nurturing kitchen culture is key to having a top tier culinary program. Every bite a guest has in any of our outlets will be curated and part of our thoughtful food philosophy.” – Chef Matt McClure.
